One PieceWarning: May contain Spoilers. The Anime | The Manga | The MoviesThe AnimeOne Piece is a pirate themed anime. The main story revolves around the main character Luffy (Monkey D. Luffy) who dreams of being the pirate king. He travels the seas gathering his nakama (Crew mates), defeating all that oppose them, as he makes his way to get the biggest treasure of all, ONE PIECE! Like most anime, most of the characters possess some sort of power, in one piece certain characters have the power of the 'Devils Fruit'. The devils fruits are rare fruits that when consumed give the user a special ability, there are many different fruit and each one is unique and one of a kind. The main character Luffy has the ability of the gomu gomu fruit, which turned his body into rubber, allowing him to stretch his body. This offers him many techniques when fighting and allows him to hit powerful blows on his opposition.The Main CharactersMonkey D. Luffy (Rubber Man - Captain) Roronoa Zoro (Swordsman) Nami (Navigator) Usopp (Sharp Shooter) Sanji (Cook) Tony Tony Chopper (Docter) Nico Robin (Archeologist) Franky (Shipwright) One piece anime was originally released in Japan on October 20th 1999. It was later released as a 4Kids english dub in the Us on September 16th 2004, however this series only lasted 104 episodes (the first 143 original episodes compressed), and the scenes were edited. Funimation obtained the license to make an English dub of the series, and released their first dvd on May 27th 2008. Two more sets followed on September 16th 2008. The Funimation dubbed version was premiered on Cartoon network on September 29th 2007 which was then cancelled on March 29th 2008, to date this was the only television release.The MangaThe Manga is both written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda, it was first premiered in an issue of the Shonen Jump magazine on August 4th 1997.
